Lifelong conservative, Christian, former Trump appointee, Green Beret, Bronze Star recipient and West Point grad, Andrew Knaggs has fought for American values throughout his life. He commanded a Special Forces team, conducted combat operations in Iraq, and now he’s running for Congress to fight for the 7th District.
Andrew served for two years as a senior Trump administration official leading global special operations and counterterrorism policy in the Pentagon. Before this political appointment, he led DoD’s research and development effort at the agency that keeps our troops alive by countering IEDs and roadside bombs in combat zones.
Between Andrew’s combat duty in uniform and his return to the Pentagon as a civilian, he graduated from the law school at the College of William & Mary. A steadfast conservative, Andrew was elected president of William and Mary’s chapter of the Federalist Society. Later, he started his own law firm where he helped small business owners navigate complex legal issues and government regulations.
Andrew has always balanced his commitments to family and country. Andrew and his wife, Sara, have been married for over 21 years and they have lived in the Commonwealth for over 14 of those years — most of that time in the 7th District. They built their home here. They are raising their twins here. They have a vested interest in the 7th District’s future.
Andrew Knaggs has answered our nation’s call his entire life. Now, he is running for Congress because the 7th District needs a conservative representative with real world credibility and clear integrity who will finish the job and is not afraid to fight back.
